Well yeah!  “There they go!”, some might say, trying to turn God into a Cosmic Vending Machine….mixing money and religion!”

      But wait! We didn’t say money.  We said prosperity, which is far more than money.

And we didn’t say religion!  We said spirituality, which goes far beyond religion. Many spiritually attuned people have no religion at all—and many people who blindly follow the dogmas and doctrines of some religion, have no inkling of their true spiritual nature, and the spiritual nature of the Universe. 

     As Eric Butterworth says, “Unfortunately, religions have been institutions instead of perceptions, something you join rather than a transcendence you experience.  We have been conditioned to believe that God  works exclusively through the machinery of an ecclesiastical body…..”

     Our metaphysical New Thought philosophy has no place for dogma or doctrine; no threat of hell, no promise of a heaven in the sky.  We are, frankly, more interested in Life before death than in Life after death; we desire more than just a “near-lifeexperience”—we want to live it fully.

    Our belief is in a  Supreme Infinite Intelligence—The Universal Mind—which is our One Source of all supply;  It created us out of Itself as an expression of Itself—and It’s intention for us is that we “go forth and prosper”, that is, that we go forward hopefully, in wholeness and wealth…enjoying the affluence of the abundant Universe.  Health, happiness, joy, love, spiritual contentment—and money!—are simply the natural results of living our lives in a consciousness of prosperity, recognizing ourselves as spiritual beings with an unlimited Source.

   Our lessons this month will be built around the ideas presented in  Spiritual Economics, the book by Eric Butterworth, who was one of the great Unity ministers.
