GET OUT OF YOUR WAY

“You belong to the universe in which you live, you are one with the Creative Genius back of this vast array of ceaseless motion, this original flow of life.  You are as much a part of it as the sun, the earth and the air.  There is something in you telling you this—like a voice echoing from some mountain top of inward vision, like a light whose origin no man has seen, like an impulse welling up from an invisible source.

Your soul belongs to the universe.  Your mind is an outlet through which the Creative Intelligence of the universe seeks fulfillment.”
~Dr. Ernest Holmes, This Thing Called You

In the above quotes, Dr. Dyer speaks of the very same Spirit, The Creative Intelligence, that Dr. Holmes wrote about many years ago.  It is the Universe of Good which exists around us and within us, which is ever ready, willing and able to become for us, the thing that we desire and commit to.  What, then, do we do when that Source, that Creative Genius, appear at times to be blocked—unwilling to work for us?

Ralph Waldo Emerson, not known for mincing words, said, “Let us take our bloated nothingness out of the path of the divine circuits.”   We do not wish to think of ourselves as a ‘bloated nothingness”—nor should we.  So, let us just say, “Get out of your way!”

The Universe—or what I call God—can only work for us by working through us.  Those ‘divine circuits’ are our connections to that Creative Power—and they are Divine not because they are blessed by the Pope or reserved for the pious, but because they are a natural, God-given aspect of our being.  They are the way the Universe seeks to bring our good into our lives. If there seems to always be some obstacle—some thing—blocking  your flow of good—you may be sure that that thing is YOU.  It is you and your fears, doubts, attitudes, hang-ups and negative thinking--All the stuff  with which you some- times burden yourself.  So our best advice —as annoying as it may be to hear—is to just get over yourself!  Get yourself out of the way—and take all that stuff with you and dump it somewhere! Let it go!  It’s weighing you down, it’s holding you back, it’s betraying your true nature as a spiritual being, one with your Source.

Namaste,
Reverend Jay
